German Ridge Recreation Area

The German Ridge Recreation Area is located in the Hoosier National Forest and includes a campground, a 24-mile multiple use trail, a short hiking trail around a scenic lake, a day use area for swimming and picnicking, and several historic buildings. It was established during the Civilian Conservation Corps days and has long been a popular get-away for people in southern Indiana. For the horse enthusiasts--there is a 20 site horse camp with water available for the horses, a small lake and a beach.

Tipsaw Recreation Area

Part of the Hoosier National Forest, the Tipsaw Recreation Area features 35 campsites with two group camp areas and a 10-site RV area. Camping areas are equipped with and electricity and showers. Tipsaw Lake offers 15 picnic sites, 2 shelter houses, a beach, and boat ramp. A 5.9 mile bike/hike trail circles the lake. For reservations call 1-877-444-6777 or go to recreation.gov

Indian-Celina Recreation Area

The Indian and Celina Recreation Area is a tranquil get-away in the midst of the Hoosier National Forest. The recreation area contains Celina Lake (164 ac.) and Indian Lake (152 ac.). It is located 3 miles south of Interstate 64 off State Highway 37. The recreation area offers camping, electric motor boating, fishing, and hiking, as well as a interesting historical site. There are 63 campsites available, with electricity and showers, two boat ramps, and a twelve mile hiking trail that circles the lakes. For reservations call 1-877-444-6777 or go to recreation.gov.

Less than 200 yards from the Little Patoka boat ramp on Patoka Lake, "the quiet side of the lake" has everything you might need. Saddle Lake Recreation Area

The Saddle Lake Recreation Area was one of four that was associated with flood control lakes built along the Middle Fork of the Anderson River. Saddle Lake once had a fully developed recreation area but now has only a 13 site primitive campground, a boat ramp for the lake and a 2.2 mile hiking trail. This scenic, somewhat remote lake is an excellent place to get away from crowds and you will often have the place to yourself!

Patoka Lake Campgrounds

Campsite types include 450 electric sites with asphalt surfaced pads, electricity, water, flush toilets, hot water and showers, a camp store, fish cleaning station and trailer dump station, and 45 primitive sites. A Fishermen's Campground designed primarily to serve fishermen and primitive campers. Youth Tent camping is also available. Occupancy limited to 14 consecutive nights.
