Visit Harrison County

So you’re looking for something new to do. Have you been to Harrison County lately? The Slow Saunter Hike will take place on April 3 from
1-4pm in the Harrison-Crawford State Forest. This is a guided hike on the Adventure Hiking Trail led by Jason Flickner, Conservation Director at the Indiana Forest Alliance. The hike will go rain or shine, and is suitable for families or individuals aged ten and up. The difficulty level is rated as easy to moderate. Space is limited, so you’re encouraged to register online at https://slowsaunterapril.eventbrite.com/. A small $5 donation is suggested to help support the efforts of the Indiana Forest Alliance.

The Spring Wine Walk is coming up on April 9 from 3-7pm. It starts at the Blaine Wiseman Visitor Center, located in downtown Corydon, at the corner of East Walnut and Elm Streets. Fourteen different wineries will be participating to give you a wide variety of area wines. Tickets are $15, and as expected, you must be at least 21 years of age to take part. There will be 350 advance tickets sold that will give you the opportunity to start your tastings an hour early, beginning at 2pm, in addition to a special souvenir glass to take home with you.

Corydon is home to Indiana’s first State Capitol. Why not take a walking tour of the city to view the historic buildings and sites? Or bring your clubs and play a round of golf on one of the area courses. Maybe miniature golf is more your speed. There’s a family entertainment complex that features two 18-hole mini courses. How about some live music? There are some great shows every Saturday night. Watch the art of glass making in a family owned shop. Try your luck at the casino. Find your new favorite craft beer at the brewery. Check out one of the fun shows at the theatre or catch a movie at the cinema. Or simply relax in a lawn chair in one of the parks to enjoy nature.
