Visit Daviess County

Amish Country

Nearly 725 Old Order Amish families reside here and welcome tourists to their restaurants, inns, auctions, flea markets and special events. If a slower paced lifestyle sounds inviting, come and visit!

Enjoying Nature

Daviess County is also a favorite destination for fishing, hunting, camping — or just enjoying nature. Bring your tent or camper and spend the weekend water skiing at West Boggs Park. There’s also a golf course for the serious golfers, and a putt-putt course for those who just want to have some fun. The Glendale Fish & Wildlife Area is also located in Daviess County, with its 1400 acre lake, boat rentals, fish cleaning station and hunting opportunities.

More to Do

Looking for family fun? How about “Movies On Main Street” in the German American Bank parking lot during the warmer months? And the White River Valley Antique Show in Elnora is a big draw. The Washington Conservation Club has 3D archery shoots at various times during the year, or you can learn about rug hooking, needlepoint, tatting and more at the Wool Fiber Arts Fair. Maybe the Wine, Cheese & Art Festival sounds more like your style. The Old Settlers Festival in Odon is one of the oldest festivals in the state, so you won’t want to miss that either. And who could forget about the annual Gasthof Amish Quilt Auction and their Holiday Bazaar? Have you got a car enthusiast in your family? Then be sure to attend the 20th Century Chevy Car Fest. Looking for a nice place to beat the heat in the middle of summer? Check out the new Waterworld of Washington, with slides, sprayers and a pool.
