The main objective of agritourism is to attract visitors to the countryside and to improve the potential income of small farms and rural communities.

It consists of agriculture related enterprises that are conducted for the enjoyment of visitors while generating income for the owner.

Vineyards and wineries, wood products, herbs, Amish roadside stands, pumpkin patches, harvest festivals, corn mazes, and horse farms are just a few examples.
